Due to the many requests to reopen the Chemometrics Discussion Forum, I have made it available here at Chemometrics.se (under Discussion Forum in the menu).

Spam is always a problem with these types of discussion boards, and I will try to make an additional effort to minimize their damages. However, the earlier postings, mostly very good discussion is for you to enjoy, and pick up in your quest to solve scientific problems using Chemometrics,

PLS Regression and the Covariance
The PLS regression is characterized by finding a score vector in X and a score vector in Y that provide with maximal covariance. In the analysis of data the results of this optimization task should be reported. Here it is shown how this should be done. It is also illustrated how this can provide with useful information on the modeling task.
